In December 1999, a historic verdict was returned at the Shelby County Court in Memphis.
A jury found that former café owner Loyd Jowers and "the Government" were involved in conspiracy to kill Dr. King. Dexter King, son of Dr. King said after the verdict "I think this is history being created."
